Mixed Feelings at Christmas

Hi all

Christmas is a very funny time of year.

For a lot of people it is a time of joy, celebration, present-buying and fun. Or just the time to put your feet up and have a well-deserved rest.

For many people, me included, it is a time that is tinged with sadness. It is a time when we think of loved ones who are no longer with us, especially if they passed away at this time of year.

My beloved Grandad passed away on New Years Eve 1995, when I was 4 months pregnant with my second daughter. We had said our Goodbye’s in the afternoon and driven home to Bolton, a 4 hour drive away.

I rang to say we had got home safely, only to hear those fateful words, “Grand-dad passed away this afternoon, about 2 hours after you left!”

I cried for days.

That was the last family Christmas with everyone there; 14 of us around the dinner table – all laughing, joking, guzzling vast quantities of port wine and shared the time-honoured Christmas traditions.

It was funny because my older daughter, 21 months old at the time, had hardly left Grandad’s side all Christmas. If was as if she knew…

Grandad would pat her gently on her head, with an affection the rest of us rarely saw, and say in his old Devonshire accent “Alright, Maid”. He kept talking about “Going Home.”

(*Maid is an old word meaning “girl”)

For me, Christmas brings all those memories back. Sometimes it can be hard to smile at the frivolities all around me. My heart and my thoughts go especially to my grand-mother, who lost her partner of nearly 60 years.

In 2001, I then lost my Gran on my father’s side on the 14th December. It certainly is a funny time of year for me.

Do I laugh? Do I cry? Sometimes those emotions are so closely mixed together that I can be doing both at the same time.

I can feel the tears pricking as I am writing this. My heart goes out to anyone who feels those twinges of sadness as Christmas approaches.

Can anything truly heal that pain? I don’t really know!

I created an audio relaxation to help myself to let go, called “Relaxation for the Bereaved, Heal the Grief”, which may help you as well. It is an audio download or a CD. (Scroll down the page)

Relaxation for the Bereaved, Heal the Grief

If you have feelings of mixed blessings at Christmas, please know you are not alone.

I wish you peace and blessings.

Interview With Spirit Radio

Hi

Last Thursday I made my Radio debut on the Interview With Spirit show on Blog Talk Radio. It was with Neil Long (a UK radio presenter), Ken MacLean (a USA Spiritual healer) and “the guys” (evolved, entertaining spirit beings).

It was quite nerve racking as this was world-wide live Internet radio.

I was doing live (and free) Angel Card readings for our friends on the telephone lines and in the chat room. It was a fantastic show. Our special guest was Pat Hicks, author of the “Seven Laws of Success”.

You can listen to show again by clicking on the logo below.

The Power of Prayer

Hi

I have always believed in the power of PRAYER… And, today I have been asked to share this prayer with other people.
Thank you to my friend Ellie, who sent me this beautiful prayer.

Please pass it on.

“May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let His presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.”

The Power of Prayer is awesome.

I would love to hear of your miracles.

Traffic, Travel and Parking Angels

Does anyone else call on their Angels to help them to find parking spaces? Or to ask for a safe journey? Or to ask for a journey free of traffic jams?

My angels seem to love to help me with these ones and I have even convinced my husband that it works.
Parking:

This is particularly useful when I want to park right outside the supermarket door, so I do not have to push a heavily -laden trolley for miles around a dark car-park. This is especially useful when the learner- drivers and would-be-racing-car-drivers both use the car park (parking lot) to practise their respective crafts.

As you come into the car park, ask for a space as close to the door as you can get. Fully expect to receive one. I usually drive forward slowly and by the time I get to the door, invariably someone is just pulling out.

This is also very useful when it is pouring with rain and you have left your coat or your umbrella at home.

Traffic and Travel:

I always ask my Angels to get me safely to my destination and to keep the traffic flowing smoothly. If I hit a traffic jam, I take a few deep breaths and ask my Angels to get me to my destination on time.

Knowing I will be on time, or that I will arrive at the perfect time, stops me from fretting or getting upset over the traffic.

It is a good idea to keep a selection of calming CDs in your car or know exactly where the tranquil classical radio station is.

Football Expectation:

My husband, Greg, always used to have an expectation that he would get stuck in traffic or roadworks when he was going to a football game. Hence, he would leave earlier and earlier to go. His expectation of the journey did not help him.

One day I went as well and we sailed straight through without a problem. Yes, I had asked for some angelic help and I held the expectation that we would have a smooth journey- and we did.

I hope you have found this angelic Tip useful.
